About the Site

Originally built in 1917 as a training field for the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Brown Field Municipal Airport served as a critical military airfield through both World Wars. It became a key installation for the Marine Corps and Navy, supporting operations across the Pacific.

Now a general aviation airport operated by the Port of San Diego, it sits just miles from the U.S.–Mexico border — a site of service, history, and resilience. The perfect home for Legacy Fest.
